Gemelos 28 court ruling ratified

One of Benidorm’s most prestige tower blocks Gemelos 28 has had ratified by the supreme court the demolition notice that was served first in 2012.

The iconic complex situated in the Rincon de Loix has undergone years of legal battles after being authorised in 2005 to be built by the then Partidos Popular government under the councillor of infrastructure Isabel Bonig permission.

The court ruled that the building was developed on unsanctioned lands and failed to comply with Spanish law.

The apartments have 22 floors and 168 apartments that are now to be vacated and to be compensated by the local government amounting to over 100 million euro forcing the region to re-evaluate their local budget.
